Goodbye school. Hello summer.

Today was Carson's and Owen's last day of preschool. It was a fun year for the boys. They had fantastic teachers and truly love learning, playing, creating and all the other things that preschool involves. Carson and I have been amazed at the things the boys have learned throughout the year. Today was filled with lots of games and various activities. The big boys had a blast at school. The last 30 minutes of the day was a class ice cream party in which family members were invited. Mommy, Stella and Isaac attended the party. This was huge for Carson and Owen. Not only did they get to have ice cream, but Mommy and the babies were at school, too.
Now that preschool has ended Carson and Owen think that it is officially summer. They are ready to swim and play outside...all day long! Bring on the sun and let the the fun begin.

Look Ma! No hands!

This is Isaac's latest trick. He will drink most of his milk from his cup then bite down on the mouth piece and wave the cup around in his mouth. I know it isn't overly impressive, but it is so cute to see and hear in person. This is mostly because of the giggle that accompanies the trick. Isaac knows he's being funny when he does this. For those of you who have heard Isaac's giggle I'm sure can just about imagine how funny this new trick of his really is.

Fire

This is a little song Daddy sings to Carson and Owen at bedtime. It has become a favorite. It took a while for Owen agree to be taped, but once he found Stella's microphone it was on!
Enjoy the video.

Not again

Today as I'm leaving from preschool pick-up I'm sitting at the stop sign waiting to turn right to go home when I see a lady running towards my car door. I roll down my window to see what is the matter. She asks me in a panic if the stroller in the parking lot is mine. I'm a bit surprised. She then asks if I have a single stroller and I say no, I've got a double. The stroller left behind by some absent minded person must not be mine. It couldn't be!
Sure enough it was my stroller. I look about 100 yards back and see my poor old double stroller sadly just parked alone in the preschool parking lot. (We are usually the last ones to leave the parking lot for some reason. Why do you suppose that is?) So, in total and complete embarrassment I turn the van around and pack up the trusty old stroller.
I had no more just got done telling my friend, Dina, about the time I almost ran over my own stroller leaving preschool had it not have been for the back-up sensors in the van. At least last time when I forgot to load the stroller in the van I didn't actually drive away like this time. Don't get me wrong I would have had I have not put the van in reverse just to have my sensors go crazy and my back-up camera showing me what I was about to run over. Today, I didn't have to back out of my parking spot since we were one of the last ones out of the parking lot so I didn't realize I left it. On a good note the stroller had no kids in it. (Don't think I didn't do a kid count in the van when I realized what I had done.) However, it did have my Mother's Day flowers that Carson and Owen planted for me and a backpack in it.

Attention to Detail

This morning was really no different than any other Wednesday morning. I had gotten all the kids' clothes out before breakfast. I asked Carson and Owen to get dressed before eating breakfast today. Carson followed my instructions. Owen did not. So, after breakfast I asked Owen to get dressed since we only had 15 minutes before we had to leave for gymnastics. We still had to brush teeth, get handsome hair and find shoes to wear. So, Owen being the trooper that he is hurries and gets dressed as I'm in the bathroom supervising Carson while he's brushing his teeth. In comes Owen fully dressed. We brush his teeth. Both boys get handsome hair, we find flip flops to wear, Kayla shows up to watch the babies and off to gymnastics we go.
I get settled on the bench outside the gymnastics room and am watching the boys do their thing. I noticed the boys' shirts were a little "off." I couldn't believe how much shorter Owen's was on him compared to Carson's shirt. They were the same size. And that's when it hit me. Owen put on Isaac's shirt today. (It is the same as Carson's and Owen's shirts.) Yep, he wore it out of the house and to gymnastics. It's a small 18 month sized shirt on a 3 1/2 year old. Nice, huh?

They can't be my kids

Wednesday afternoon the kids and I drove to NE. We had to detour an hour out of our way so my husband could drop off a truck at one of their stores. The last hour of the trip Carson was with us, but for five plus hours I was solo with the four kids. Carson followed behind me only part of the way. The kids were pretty good in the car all things considered. My only complaint is that they don't sleep in the car. How can this be? Isaac was the big sleep winner with sleeping all of 20 minutes. Carson came in second with two minutes. Stella and Owen chose not to sleep at all. And yes, we were in the car during nap time. It makes no difference what time of day or night we leave, the kids won't sleep. I guess it shouldn't matter if they are good right? But, this can't be normal. Or is it?
