Jump, Tumble, and Fly

Here's a glimpse of Stella and Isaac at gymnastics class. I "participate" with them. They usually run in opposite directions during class or as I call it divide and conquer. The instructors are great help with Stella and Isaac. We do our own thing and that's okay. The kids love it and that's the most important thing to me.

Isaac loves "the pit" and trampoline. Stella loves to swing on the rings or on the bar. She likes the pit, but doesn't jump in. She scoots in.

Sleeping = Growing

How can my kids be growing right before my eyes? I see it mostly with Stella and Isaac. I swear there are some days when they are bigger when they wake from their naps. How does this happen? The other day was one of those days when they grew while napping. My once teeny tiny babies are now toddlers. How and when did this happen? Here's a couple of pictures I took of Stella and Isaac just before I woke them from their afternoon nap. Don't they look so big? And so relaxed! It's such a bittersweet feeling knowing my kids are growing before my eyes.

Doesn't every two year old girl sleep with her purse on and her shoes lying right next to her?

Flowers for Mommy

The other day the big boys and I were playing outside when I see Owen approaching me with a little grouping of white flowers. He handed them to me with such joy on his face. I loved them! What a sweet boy for giving his mommy flowers.

Before I knew it both boys were handing me flowers left and right. They were getting the flowers from the neighbor's tree by using a tree limb that had fallen to the ground. They were swinging their little hearts out to get the flowers down to give to me. Eventually, I had quite a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Little Carson told me I could now get married. He led me to the front door where I got married as he watched the imaginary ceremony from the yard. After the marriage ceremony it was time to come inside to eat. Carson asked me if I knew what color my wedding dress was. I ask, "white?" "Nope! It was red with all different colors. But, not brown or black because they aren't bright beautiful colors." Not exactly how I pictured my wedding dress to look, but none the less I'm sure it was beautiful.

Easter Adventure

Our Easter ended up being a little untraditional, but I will say a good effort was made, our hearts were in the right place, and the Easter bunny knew exactly where to find the Wright kids.

So when asked what we did on Easter here's how I answer in the form of pictures.

The kids got up and saw the Easter bunny had left them Easter baskets.

It was a very long walk to the church. There was a road that was closed so we had to walk over a dirt road, across a field, and up a hill. When we finally got to the church it was standing room only. We were about ten deep. We had seats saved in the church for us, but couldn't get to them.

So what do you do with six kids (our four and two of our nephews) and four adults when you can't get into church on Easter? Well, this is what we did.

We took our traditional Easter pictures of the kids and an attempt of a family picture.

After pictures of the kids were through we let the kids run. And when I say run, they ran!

Luke, Owen, Isaac, Carson. Stella and Jake ran all the way to the trees and back...a couple of times.

The adults (Carson, Papa, Uncle Klay and myself) started to get cold so we encouraged the kids to run back to the van so we could warm up. It was the only car that was unlocked. Mark has his car keys with him. He actually made it though the crowd to the seats in church. So the Kluver boys and Papa were locked out of their car. On the way to the vehicles we found this.

IMG_3948

And why wouldn't the kids all go in the dirty loader to get a picture in their Easter clothes?

We finally made it to the van. The kids watched Scooby-Doo while waiting for church to get out.

Baby Will was tuckered out!

We all had a wonderful Easter. It was a bit non-traditional, but it all turned out okay and was a lot of fun. We were able to spend it with family and that is very important to us. We wouldn't have had it any other way!

Our Weekend in Nebraska

We went to Omaha, Nebraska to celebrate "baby Will's" first birthday. Will is Mark's (my brother) and Amy's son. Friday was Will's actual birthday. We all headed to the Henry Doorly Zoo. We had a fantastic time and love going with the Pattersons. Here's a few highlights from our zoo adventure.

After the zoo we all came home to nap. Then Will got to open his birthday present from his Wichita cousins.

Saturday was Will's birthday bash. There were so many kids, adults, family and friends at the party. Here's a peek of the party.

Our Perfect Day

It was a perfect day. 70-something degrees in the morning with a slight breeze. All the kids were happy, well behaved and excited to be playing outside. There were no arguments, just smiling faces, laughter, running, riding, swinging, sliding and climbing.

Can you beat a smiling face like this?
